Readers of all ages are invited to explore what it means to “Build a Better World” this summer. Starting on Tuesday, June 13, children can sign up for Santa Barbara Public Library System’s 2017 Summer Reading Program. Throughout the summer kids and teens will be encouraged to read, visit the public library, and earn rewards when they talk about their favorite stories or things they have learned.
The program runs through July 31, and is filled with weekly family events and more. Storytimes and activities will highlight construction (from tree-houses to skyscrapers), creativity, teamwork and lifelong learning. Goleta Library will also be celebrating 20 years of Harry Potter with a trivia challenge and craft projects in June.
It’s not too late for 9-12th grade teens to earn community service. Contact the Library to sign up for the training orientation on Saturday, June 10 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Visit http://www.sbplibrary.org/ for more information and to view the full summer activity calendar, or call 805.964.7878 with questions.
