The City of Goleta’s General Municipal Election is coming up on November 3, 2026, and registered voters who live in Districts 1 and 2 will have the opportunity to vote for a City Council representative from their district If you are not sure which District you live in, take a moment now to find out using our interactive map at https://tinyurl.com/GoletaDistrictMap.

This is also a good reminder to take the time NOW to verify your voter registration status and register to vote by October 19, 2026. Learn more on the Santa Barbara County Elections webpage at www.SBCVote.com.

Since 2022 the City has been divided into four districts with the Mayor’s seat at-large:

• District 1 (Northeast/Fairview area)
• District 2 (Southeast/Old Town area)
• District 3 (Northwest/Winchester area)
• District 4 (Southwest/Ellwood area)

While the 2026 election is for Districts 1 and 2, in 2028, Districts 3 and 4 will hold their elections, and voters citywide will elect the Mayor.

Here is veteran City Clerk Deborah Lopez with a short video message on how it works. The video is also available in Spanish with the City’s Spanish Engagement Specialist.
