The 11th Annual Lemon Run held on September 20th was a HUGE success! Thank you to all the runners, volunteers, and sponsors who made the event possible. There were 865 participants, nearly 100 volunteers, and more than 1,100 people in attendance. It was a picture-perfect day with food from local vendors, prizes from local businesses, and activities and art for all ages.
Goleta Education Foundation (GEF) raised $65,000 through this event alone. Proceeds will allow GEF to support its essential programs, student scholarships, and Innovation Grants and Professional Development Scholarships for Goleta Union School District (GUSD) educators. These funds help GUSD staff promote innovation and provide a better educational experience for students across all nine elementary schools.
The Lemon Run is one of GEF’s events that helps achieve its mission to engage the community to invest in and enhance an excellent educational experience for all students attending schools in the Goleta Union School District.
