Meet Me in Old Town Celebrates Successful Third Year

Another Meet Me in Old Town Goleta community block party series is in the books! Over two vibrant Wednesday evenings on June 17 and June 24, Old Town came alive with music, food, family-friendly activities, and community connection as residents, visitors, and local businesses gathered to celebrate the heart of Goleta.

The 2026 series, a partnership between the City of Goleta and the Santa Barbara South Coast Chamber of Commerce, featured an expanded block party layout on Pine Avenue. Attendees enjoyed a diverse lineup of live entertainment, including performances by Out of the Blue and Equipo Elite, alongside interactive games, community vendors, and local food offerings.

“Meet Me in Old Town Goleta is about creating experiences that bring people together while supporting the businesses and organizations that make this community special,” said Kristen Miller, President & CEO of the Santa Barbara South Coast Chamber of Commerce. “Old Town has incredible energy, and these evenings give neighbors, families and visitors an opportunity to connect, celebrate and experience the heart of Goleta”.

A major highlight of this year’s festivities was the Watch Party Lounge, which hosted high-energy FIFA World Cup broadcasts. Soccer fans of all ages, many wearing their favorite team jerseys, gathered to cheer on matches like Colombia vs. Uzbekistan and Mexico vs. Czechia on outdoor screens and inside La Hacienda Restaurant. Councilmembers Luz Reyes-Martín and James Kyriaco were among those in attendance, with Reyes-Martín noting, “It is wonderful to see so many people out enjoying the summer night and seeing neighbors and kids and families from all over Goleta just having a good time”.

The family-friendly atmosphere included games, bubble-making, and art stations. To the delight of younger attendees, the first 50 children each evening received a complimentary Kona Ice.

The City and the Chamber wish to extend a special thank you to our community partners, volunteers, and the many Old Town businesses that participated and supported the events. This involvement continues to bring life and momentum to this growing tradition while strengthening the local economy and showcasing the unique character of the district.

If you missed the festivities—or just want to relive the fun—be sure to check out the photo album capturing the best moments from this year’s series on the Chamber’s website. We look forward to seeing everyone again next summer for another season of community, connection, and celebration in Old Town Goleta!
