The artwork for the future donor wall at the Goleta Valley Library (GVL) is revealed. The design, presented at the July 21st Council meeting, recognizes the many community contributions to the GVL’s interior design capital campaign, “Writing the Next Chapter.” Recognition opportunities via the donor wall will be available for those who have already contributed to the campaign. Additional opportunities to make a gift at one of the tiers specified in the Donor Recognition Program will be available later this month. Stay tuned!
The Library team worked with several highly talented artists to create this beautiful concept that honors Goleta’s heritage, local appreciation for literacy and lifelong learning, and the phenomenal generosity of our community in supporting the library’s project.
The donor wall will be located at the Fairview Avenue entrance ramp, near the sidewalk, to maximize visibility and ease of viewing this special piece of art. It is proposed to be approximately five feet tall and eight feet wide and composed of hand-painted eight-inch porcelain tiles.
As of July 2026, the campaign has raised $1,131,122.95, which is 66.54% of its $1,700,000 goal. Donations can be made through the Santa Barbara Foundation, the Friends of the Goleta Valley Library, the City of Goleta, and in-person at GVL Express.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our many campaign donors for their incredible generosity!
