Pine Avenue & Ekwill Street Roundabout Now Open

Map of Pine and Ekwill Roundabout (close-up)

Traffic is flowing smoothly at the new roundabout at Pine Avenue and Ekwill Street. The roundabout opened on July 10, 2026, marking another major milestone for Project Connect, the largest capital improvement project in the City’s history.

Construction will continue in the area as crews work toward completing the Ekwill Street extension, which is slated to open later this year. Upon completion, the corridor will include travel lanes, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, landscaped parkways and other transportation improvements designed to support a safer and more connected community.

Drivers should expect occasional lane shifts and brief traffic delays, follow all posted signs, and allow extra travel time when traveling through the project area.

The Pine Avenue and Ekwill Street roundabout is part of the Ekwill Street Extension Project, which will improve east-west connectivity through Old Town Goleta, enhance safety for all users, and provide improved access to local businesses, neighborhoods and the Santa Barbara Airport.
